How It Works

Buy Bitcoin with cash at a Bitcoin Depot ATM (BTM).

1. Create a Digital Wallet

To use one of our BTMs, you’ll need a digital wallet. If you don’t have one, you can create one with the Bitcoin Depot app.

2. Enter Your Information

At the BTM, start by selecting the amount you wish to purchase. You will then be asked to enter your phone number, name, and email address.

3. Verification

A 5-digit verification code will be sent to your phone. Enter the code at the kiosk.

4. Provide Your Wallet Address

You can either scan your Bitcoin Depot Wallet via app, or enter your own wallet address.

Receive button or the QR code in the top left corner of the app.

5. Complete Your Purchase

Insert your cash into the BTM. Once the transaction is complete, choose print or email for your receipt. Your crypto will hit your wallet within minutes.

What’s a digital wallet and which one should I use?
The only way to send and receive Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is through a digital wallet. Each wallet has a unique address specific to you. You can create a wallet in the Bitcoin Depot app.
What is a BTM?
BTM is actually short for Bitcoin Teller Machine, and in essence a Bitcoin ATM. These are machines that allow you to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with cash. Once the transaction is made, the crypto is sent to the user’s digital wallet.
How much can I purchase at once?
Our daily limits per customer are $20 minimum and $15,000 maximum. For larger transactions, try BDConcierge, our wire-transfer service.
Do you sell cryptocurrencies besides Bitcoin?
No, At this time, you can only purchase Bitcoin at our BTMs.
